Lapinlahti and Reisjärvi wind turbine plants

Lapinlahti and Reisjärvi wind turbine plants

Several wind turbines are planned for areas suitable for wind farms in Northern Savo and Northern Ostrobothnia. A-Insinöörit is responsible for the overall project management, zoning and management of the survey in ABO Wind's wind power projects.

In the Iso-Petäjämäki wind power projects in Lapinlahti and Kiiskineva wind power projects in Reisjärvi, approximately 10–20 individual wind turbines are planned for each of the large parks.

As the main consultant, A-Insinöörit is responsible for preparing the partial master plans for the wind power parks and the related cultural environment and landscape surveys, as well as managing the environmental impact assessment and environmental survey.

Both the Iso-Petäjämäki and Reisjärvi projects are planned for forested areas without residential or holiday homes. The Iso-Petäjämäki area covers approximately 3,000 hectares in the preliminary plan, and Reisjärvi approximately 2,400 hectares. The suitability of the areas as wind farms has already been assessed in the regional plan.

Extensive expert studies related to the planning projects and the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure for wind turbines in Lapinlahti and Reisjärvi will begin in early winter 2024.

In addition to the nature surveys, archaeological surveys, noise, glare and visibility area modelling, as well as cultural environment and landscape surveys will be carried out in the areas. Ecobio is responsible for the EIA procedures required for the projects.
