Tärttämäki Bridge, Äänekoski
The bridge will offer excellent transport connections to serve the increasing traffic volumes across the whole of Central Finland, while ensuring the smooth running of transport operations to the Äänekoski bioproduct plant.

Design challenges were presented by factors such as the strait’s steep banks and rocky surfaces, which created varied ground conditions. The bridge has intermediate supports, which are supported by drill piles resting on the underwater rock base. The land supports were built on filled land banks. Because the bridge deck is relatively wide, the tensioned concrete deck structure has a three-beam design.
