Espoo City Rail
We are responsible for railway planning and geotechnical engineering as a subconsultant to Proxion of the Tuomarila—Kauklahti section.
The Espoo City Rail responds to the growth in passenger numbers by improving the service level and punctuality of local and long-distance train traffic. At the same time, the project significantly develops the urban environment of Espoo and Kauniainen. The City Rail is also the first phase of the fast train connection to Turku, known as the Länsirata project. In this demanding joint project between the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, Espoo, and Kauniainen, two additional tracks will be built between Leppävaara and Kauklahti alongside the existing ones, the equipment level of eight stations will be improved, and park-and-ride areas will be developed.
