Malmintalo lighting, Helsinki

The color of the Malmitalo entrance on the park side now changes in sync with the park lights.

Malmintalo lighting, Helsinki

The lighting at the Malmitalo main entrance underwent a more extensive renovation at the same time. The old lighting was confusing, with attention points in the wrong places and outdated technology. The Malmitalo sign on the high wall will be replaced by a large LED video screen covering the entire wall, and large posters will be removed from the other wall. For this reason, only one brick wall is illuminated. The light directed from top to bottom and optically limited also brightens the stair area. The entrance is also provided with general lighting by the renewed LED luminaires in the high canopy. The interior arch behind the glass facade was illuminated with small color-changing RGB beams, which are not very noticeable in daylight. The RGB beams can be controlled in ten different groups, creating dynamics and multi-color combinations in the arch. The wind shelter and the entrance gate also have the same controllable RGB beams. The visual appearance is crowned by an effect projector, which can be used to create images, colors and living effects on the paving. The Malmitalo staff can change the lighting programs themselves and thus communicate events and moods outside the building. A-innsinöörit was responsible for the lighting concept, as well as the building and electrical design.
