Scandic Helsinki Airport, Vantaa
A modern 150-room hotel was designed and built in an office building at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, with special attention given to moisture control and acoustics.
Due to aircraft noise, demanding acoustic solutions were implemented. Only the load-bearing structures and the building envelope were preserved from the old structures. The location between the Hilton Hotel and the T2 terminal is ideal for both air travelers and train passengers. The challenge was that many services, such as air traffic control, health services, and the police, continued to operate normally throughout the construction period.
