Robusta district, Helsinki
Five residential buildings, complete with parking facilities, are being planned for the Kahvikortteli area in Vuosaari, Helsinki.
The houses will be built in the area of the former Paulig coffee roastery, from which the new development derives its name. Local history is evident in the names of the area’s streets and housing companies. The courtyard between the buildings will be covered by a deck, beneath which a split-level 1.5-storey parking facility with 136 parking spaces will be built. The blocks of flats will be constructed from elements with the street-side façade laid onsite. The roof, which has a wooden structure and is covered by bitumen sheeting, connects the different buildings.
