A unique recycling shopping center and a modern sorting facility are being built in Matkus, Kuopio, with the aim of creating an entirely new and innovative ecosystem for the reuse of recycled goods.

The shopping center will be the first of its kind in Finland, dedicated to second-hand items. The project consists of two distinct operational areas: A reuse-focused shopping center (6,000 m²), operated by Elävä Säätiö A material sorting facility (approx. 6,000 m²), operated by Jätekukko Oy The entire development is designed and implemented in accordance with the BREEAM Excellent environmental certification standards. The project strongly embodies environmentally responsible construction and serves as an outstanding example of AINS GROUP’s circular intelligence values, where sustainability, data-driven design, and collaboration are key principles.
