Occupational hygiene
With occupational hygiene assessments and measurements, we ensure safe working conditions even in industrial environments that involve risks.

We work with you to ensure safe working conditions
Safe working conditions contribute to employees' well-being and experience of job satisfaction, reduce sickness absence and health risks, and increase productivity.
Our occupational hygiene experts are familiar with different workplaces, processes and working methods, which helps to identify and manage chemical, biological and physical risks of breathing air in different work environments, including industry.
We assess workplace risks and develop occupational hygiene with you
The Occupational Safety and Health Act requires risk assessments to be conducted at all workplaces. We help identify potential risk factors at your facility and assess the extent to which employees are exposed to them. At its best, occupational hygiene is continuous improvement of working conditions.
We help you to consider not only individual risks but also the combined effects of different hazards and to develop occupational hygiene as part of a wider technical, operational and chemical safety approach. We also cooperate with occupational health services.
Objective assessment through occupational hygiene measurements
We use occupational hygiene measurements to reliably and objectively assess the working conditions in the workplace, for example the concentration of harmful chemicals in the air we breathe. We can carry out measurements as part of an existing risk assessment, an occupational health and safety programme or, for example, in connection with process changes in production.
If required, we can also provide the whole package: risk assessments, measurement planning, working condition measurements and review of the measurement results together with the customer.
We help you manage noise in the workplace
We can measure noise exposure in industrial workplaces in many different ways and from many different perspectives, such as the individual noise exposure of a worker or the noise conditions at a specific workplace. Noise management planning always includes our experts' suggestions and recommendations for noise reduction methods and protection measures.
Analysis and reporting of working conditions
We provide you with an expert assessment of the working conditions. Our long experience in occupational hygiene in various sectors ensures that we are able to assess the exposure of workers and the various health hazards in a wide range of industrial and office environments.
Additionally, we ensure that the results are reported clearly and unambiguously. We also organize participatory feedback sessions.
Occupational hygiene measures, training and advice
An important part of an occupational hygienist's job is to steer workplaces towards safer and less hazardous working practices. We can improve occupational hygiene by improving ventilation, modifying thermal conditions or adding personal protective equipment such as respiratory and hearing protection.
Equally important is consistent information. We organise participatory guidance, counselling and training for workers. When each employee is considered as an individual, everyone knows and is able to act in accordance with the common safety guidelines.
A light workplace inspection or a comprehensive occupational hygiene survey?
Workplace survey:- A quick way to get started on improving well-being at work.
- During the survey, we go through the different workplaces together.
- Our expert will give you an assessment of what is good in terms of occupational hygiene and what needs improvement.
- We assess the need for more detailed measurements, e.g. risk areas
Occupational hygiene survey:
- Preliminary assessment of working conditions
- Preparation of measurements
- Fieldwork and measurements
- Analysis and evaluation of results
- Clear report with suggestions for improvement
When the need for measurement arises in your industrial or commercial workplace, we can provide you with measurements of: chemicals, gaseous compounds, dusts and fumes, quartz, asbestos and metals, biological exposures such as endotoxins, microbes, bacteria, moulds and fungi, noise and the effects of different noise doses, e.g. hand or body vibrations, quality of compressed air to be breathed, thermal conditions, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, ventilation and local exhausts, etc.
