Riihimäki power plant, Riihimäki
The Riihimäki power plant, located in the immediate vicinity of the Riihimäki railway station, is a former power plant building and a landmark for which the city has been looking for a new use.

The goal is to develop the 5,000-square-metre red-brick property into an event and cultural centre with a unique atmosphere and a living room for the city's residents. The Voimala premises have been preliminarily sketched for the facilities of the Riihimäki Art Museum and the City Museum, as well as the functions of the adult education centre. The goal is to open the power plant in its new use in 2027, when a housing fair is planned for Riihimäki
