Remeo waste processing plant, Vantaa

The recycling plant being built in Vantaa will promote the achievement of the circular economy in Finland. Thanks to its new self-learning technology, the plant will be able to utilise a larger proportion of the material being processed than is possible with mechanical processing techniques. The primary goal is to boost the circulation of materials and to increase the rate of recycling for waste materials generated in the capital region. The plant’s annual capacity will be 120,000 tonnes of construction waste and 60,000 tonnes of energy waste generated by the retail and industrial sectors. The investment makes it possible to increase the recycling rate in Finland, practically eliminating the need to take construction waste from Finland to other countries.
